Vitec Software Group AB is the new owner of Visiolink
Jens Funder Berg, CEO, founder, and majority shareholder of Visiolink, has sold all his shares – along with the five minority shareholders in Visiolink’s management team – to Vitec Software Group AB. The new owners specialize in Vertical Market Software, and they want to help Visiolink become an even better and mutually beneficial business partner to the European media houses.
The Nordic software group has a long tradition of acquiring companies that serve their clients with software developed for niche applications or a specific clientele – commonly known as Vertical Market Software. Visiolink has worked successfully within this field since its establishment in 2007, and Jens Funder Berg, who will maintain his role as CEO, is looking forward to operating in synergy with similar businesses in the Vitec Software Group.
New owners will focus on relevance and ongoing product development
As the leading software company within Vertical Market Software in the Nordics, Vitec constantly develops its products and ways of working. The new owners of Visiolink will have a strong focus on creating a sustainable solution that will work in the long run while creating value for Visiolink’s customers, primarily the media industry, at the same time.
“Keeping more than 800 apps up and running requires a high level of standardization and a methodical and structured approach to the tasks. We are in control of our processes and can therefore deliver a good and stable product, but we also strive to go from »good to great« with inspiration from our new sister companies,” says Jens Funder Berg, CEO at Visiolink.
“Our new owners focus on being constantly relevant in the niche areas they work with. With relevance comes an ongoing product development, which we look forward to giving even more attention so that our customers have a stable partner in the transformation that the media industry is experiencing these years,” he says.
A good fit in corporate culture
Vitec Software Group’s acquisitions are implemented to keep the acquired companies in the group, and Vitec has invested a significant amount of time and commitment in personal meetings with Visiolink people to ensure the alignment of basic values, business models, and strategies.
“Visiolink has high-quality niche products that provide readers with the opportunity to read e-newspapers and e-magazines on their phones, tablets, or computers. This well-established, profitable business is a good fit in our corporate culture. We acquire companies to keep them in the Group and work based on careful acquisition criteria. Today we would like to welcome over 50 new employees to the Group,” says Lars Stenlund, CEO of the Vitec Software Group.
